The focus of the Connected Services team that you will be joining starts with the collection of time series and other critical operational data from our customer's equipment, such as PLCs, drives, switches, computers, and other OT and IT devices. We move this data into our on-premise and cloud-based platforms, where we design and develop visualization and analytical applications that help drive operational efficiency and information out of this raw data. We then wrap comprehensive managed services around these capabilities to allow our customers take full advantage of our domain expertise and these new technologies.
This Project Manager position is responsible for leading development efforts. Proven ability to direct resources, plan project activities and balance financial budgets. Expertise in hardware, firmware or software development and familiarity with development processes. Depending upon area of expertise, demonstrating recognizable knowledge or experience in product certifications and/or software development lifecycle is desirable.
Position Details In accordance with generally accepted engineering principles, the Project Manager role coordinates and manages various development projects through all phases of the development lifecycle including initiation, planning, execution, release and closing. The Project Manager will manage stakeholder communications, project requirements, work breakdown, development engineering, testing and release. Project management responsibilities include scheduling and planning across multiple functional areas, coordinating internal and external development and test resources and working with resource managers and other project managers to insure proper staffing, project alignment and integration. The Project Manager will own the project responsibility for the definition and clear communication of project priorities, delivery of project expectations, and identifying and mitigating issues and risks among a cross-functional project team, all while representing the best interest of the business unit.
The Project Manager role may, at times, assist in the development of business and marketing strategies optimizing the performance of new and existing product lines to achieve business objectives. This requires the project manager to maintain an understanding of the BU's business practices (program management, portfolio plans, strategy, etc.) and provide input to program management, product management and the engineering organizations in regards to technical staff coordination, resource allocation, performance feedback and development planning.
Accountable for the overall project success through the full product lifecycle, from concept through release. Success is measured by achieving the project goals on time, within product cost targets and quality standards, including meeting functional and performance requirements.
Lead and manage the development and release to production of new products/services through the application of a Common Product Development (CPD) stage-gate process to achieve timely product release.
Apply rigorous planning for scope definition, cost estimation, scheduling, resource utilization, and overall risk management.
Understand various technologies used in the product development, including their implications and associated risks. The ability to understand, articulate and plan the interfaces between various architectural pieces is an important aspect of this role.
Monitor and track project key milestones, timeline, and budget.
Identify, mitigate, and communicate project issues, risks, and status to team members and stakeholders.
Report to business management and senior management on progress while ensuring the project commitments are achieved.
Bachelor of Science degree in an Engineering discipline, or equivalent experience.
2+ years of experience in a project management or project leadership role.
Proven ability to lead multiple teams, collaborate with management and lead indirect resources.
Demonstrated experience in leading project development efforts.
Demonstrated experience in project planning, execution, risk management.
Knowledge of project management processes and tools such as PMI model, scheduling software and configuration management tools.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Demonstrated success at simultaneously working with multiple projects
Must be able to work in a complex environment where constructive feedback from others is encouraged

Project Management certificate or PMP certification.
Managed Cloud Projects using Microsoft Azure
Knowledge of software development lifecycle methodologies, such as Agile methodologies like Scrum, XP or Kanban, is a plus.
Similar industry experience such as technical knowledge in industrial controls, new product design, hardware/software, product testing, manufacturing and/or continuation & product life cycle engineering, is a plus.
Advanced training or certifications in PMI/PMP, Lean Six Sigma, Business Administration, Management, Operations or Project Engineering is desirable
