The Project Manager provides support for the Office of Human Resources, with specific focus on managing projects and efforts in HR Operations. Essential Job Functions: Manage projects and production system releases; 70% of the projects and tasks are business-focused, and 30% of them are related to PeopleSoft HCM system updates. Manage projects through all phases from initiation, planning, development, and design, to implementation and evaluation. Implement projects and solutions whether directly or in coordination with other team members/service providers. Collaborate with HR Business Process owners (Human Resources, Recruiting, Payroll, Benefits) to lead system and non-system solutions for continuous improvements. Work with customers to identify and improve current and future business processes Lead the implementation and development of change management strategy and process. Participate in capacity planning for HRMS team in coordination with leadership. Perform gatekeeper role for documents and artifacts related to system updates. Track releases in ITGC tool. Collaborate with Office of Information Technology to implement system updates. Coordinate the development of user procedures, guidelines, communications, and training documentation as needed. Proactively develop relationships with business partners. Understand, document, and streamline business processes across all HR functions. Serve as liaison with vendor and other IT areas (e.g. PeopleSoft Campus Solutions, Enterprise Financial Systems, Portal technologies). Serve as a positive change driver within the HRMS team, within OHR, and across the University. Maintain applicable service agreements.
Required Qualifications: BA/BS degree in Business Administration, MIS, Computer Science or a closely related field. At least 5 years of experience in the areas of business or systems process analysis analysis or comparable related education, training, and experience. Must be adept in managing both business-focused and systems-focused projects/efforts. Excellent communication skills – both written and oral. Ability to determine appropriate times and methods for communications. Ability to work collaboratively with people with a variety of backgrounds including business representatives from across the University, technology resources from IT, and business process owners. Strong commitment to support the University’s goal of creating a positive and inclusive campus climate for all by advancing equity and diversity. Preferred Qualifications: PMP certification. Experience in Agile project methodology. 10 years of progressively responsible professional experience in areas related to the duties assigned. Strong conceptual, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Experience working in a large, matrixed organization. Experience managing projects in PeopleSoft HCM. Understanding of project level dependencies between PeopleSoft HCM and PeopleSoft Campus Solutions.
