This is a full-time (1.00FTE), 12-month, fixed term professional faculty position. Reappointment is at the discretion of the Vice President for Research.
The Research Office (RO), headed by the Vice President for Research, advances the success of the entire OSU research enterprise by facilitating discovery, scholarship, and innovation while maintaining the highest professional and ethical standards.
Reporting to the Associate VP for Research, the IT Project Coordinator (this position) provides project management expertise to all aspects of the Research Office. This position is responsible for managing several concurrent, high visibility projects across multiple functional areas. This position provides leadership and planning to ensure that projects are effectively delivered to meet the needs of Oregon State University, and that risks of failure are minimized. This position leads projects and initiatives from conception through completion. This position collaborates with other project managers in Information Services.
Minimum Qualifications (Staff) / Guidelines (Faculty):
Typically requires Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field. Experience leading Internet-based application projects in a complex organization.
Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, management information systems or a related technical field, or an equivalent combination of experience and training.
4 years of progressive project management experience in a technology focused role.
Excellent verbal, written and presentation communication skills.
Ability to motivate and manage individuals and teams to deliver successfully on projects with no direct supervisory relationship.
Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Strong decision-making skills, including ability to set priorities and manage multiple projects and deadlines.
Experience implementing and using workflow and project management software.
One or more related certifications such as Project Management Professional (PMP), Agile Certified Practitioner (ACP), Certified Scrum Master (CSM).
This position is designated as a critical or security-sensitive position; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a Criminal History Check and be determined to be position qualified as per OSU Standard 576-055-0000 et seq. Incumbents are required to self-report convictions and those in Youth Programs may have additional Criminal History Checks every 24 months. Offers of employment are contingent upon meeting all minimum qualifications including the Criminal History Check Requirement.
Work will be conducted in an office environment with most work between 8 am and 5 pm on week days. A significant amount of the work will be conducted on a computer and other screen and keyboard devices.
