RESEARCH ANALYST, Consortium on Financing Higher Education (COFHE), to analyze, process, maintain, and help develop research data systems, primarily on college admissions, financial aid, and surveys of students; and assist in developing and implementing research projects to support COFHE's mission. COFHE collects, synthesizes, and analyzes institutional data to support member campus decision-making. Will work with the director of research on survey and other research projects and with the director of information and research systems on the development of data warehousing tools, reporting production enhancements, and online research tools; work with the entire research team to monitor and improve the quality of data management and security procedures; adhere to research standards and policies governing data quality, comparability, distribution, and exchange adopted by COFHE and member schools; produce summaries of analytic results for distribution and web publication and create standard data extracts; and help plan and support professional meetings for COFHE institutional researchers.
REQUIRED: bachelor's degree and four years' data management experience or a master's and two years; experience with survey research or institutional research projects or campus cost studies; project management experience; strong applied statistical skills; proficiency with Excel, SPSS or Stata (or other statistical packages), and graphing tools; solid written communication skills, including ability to write research reports for different audiences; initiative; and ability to adapt to data management processes involving multiple programs and outputs, work as a team member, and meet regular project deadlines. Experience in higher education highly desirable. The ability to contribute to website development and maintenance also desirable; as is working knowledge of Python, Acrobat Professional, Word, PowerPoint, and database management systems (Oracle/SQL Server).
