Reporting to the National Manager of Special Projects, the Project Manager is responsible for the development and coordination all project plan schedules that fall within the scope of Special Projects Department - from proposal creation to project execution; ensuring projects proceed on time and within budget..
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop, implement and maintain the department’s master special project schedule, supported by project management software, to provide a consolidated overview of key activities and resource requirements for individual projects.
Design and implement a detailed plan schedule for individual projects, ensuring key deliverables, timelines, resource requirements and budgetary considerations are accounted for.
Track and monitor progress for each project schedule to ensure all project deliverables are achieved within the agreed upon parameters and based on financial expectations.
Identify and assess any technical systems and/or expertise required to support the flawless execution of project deliverables; for either in-house or on-site at the project location requirements.
Create and maintain documentation for all aspects of project execution including cost control, project updates, and project post mortem analysis.
Deliver regular project status reports to the Special Projects National Manager, project managers and/or other relevant stakeholders.
Proactively flag and maintain record of change orders /project scope changes, trends and variances that potentially affect project schedule performance and budgetary commitments.
Document for future reference lessons learned and recommendations for continuous improvements in future project designs, plans, process and project deployment.
Provide support and training to others in the use of project and scheduling software to office and jobsite staff.
Bachelor’s Degree required and 10 years of related experience or a Master’s Degree and 6 years of related experience in the Construction or related industry
Minimum of 3 years project management experience
Must have significant knowledge of processes-driven methodologies with a strong focus on continuous process improvement;
Superior interpersonal and demonstrated facilitation skills, including the ability to motivate and influence others, build effective interpersonal relationships, and be able to foster and contribute to a positive and productive team environment. ?
Strong organizational, analytical, verbal & writing skills, to include solid experience in writing functional and technical specifications.
Ability to work under pressure and coordinate numerous activities and groups of people who need to cooperate to achieve maximum efficiency.
Demonstrated subject matter expertise using Microsoft Project, Excel, Word and Powerpoint.
PMP certification or progress toward achieving certification - Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
Ability to make formal presentations to audiences at various levels.
