The Project Manager is responsible for managing multiple IT projects varying in duration, size and complexity.
This role is required to lead cross-functional teams through the entire project lifecycle, ensuring projects are completed on time and staying within the project budget. Candidate will be involved in both business and technical details of the projects – develop detailed project plans, assign and manage tasks and resources, manage dependencies and risks, and provide status reports to both business and information services stakeholders.
Essential Job Outcomes * Initiates, plans and oversees execution of small to medium sized projects across many technical disciplines, capabilities services, technologies, domains or systems (scope, schedule, vendor, resources, risk/issues, cost). * Ensure resource availability and allocation. * Manage changes to the project scope, schedule and costs using various project management tools. * Measure project performance using appropriate tolls and techniques. * Report and escalate to management as needed. * Maintain open issues lists and follow up as needed with vendors and business owners. * Identify and manage all project risk. * Coordinates project timeline, budget and resources and delegates tasks across the teams. * Prepare thorough and articulate status reports and executive summaries for project stakeholders. * Other duties as assigned
Experience * General understanding of key areas of the healthcare business. * Five years’ experience as systems analyst or equivalent business experience. * High energy levels and tolerance of tight deadlines, time pressures, and ambiguity. * Three years of significant and successful project management. * Good leadership, supervision, and motivational ability. * Highly analytical, creative thinking and problem-solving skills. * Excellent communications skills, both verbal and written. * In-depth, broad, contemporary knowledge of multiple areas of business systems, PCs, collaborative computing tools, re-engineering and process improvement techniques, information management in healthcare, general information architectures, systems integration, laws, and regulations. * Strong technical (PC/peripherals, servers, networking, etc.) preferred. * Experience with application support/customer service preferred
Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Healthcare Informatics, Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Business, and/or licensed healthcare professional desirable. Formal Project Management training- PMP/PMI Certification in Progress.
