Lynn is currently accepting applications for the position of Project Manager. The Project Manager is responsible for crafting and implementing a project management methodology for the Information Technology department to adopt. Position will also be responsible for effectively leading projects and initiatives to ensure that projects are completed; advise the IT Directors; and, act as a trainer and consultant to the IT organization. In addition, position will assist the Office of the President with key initiatives that require project management oversight. Position will report to the Chief Information Officer.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Craft and implement a project management methodology for the Information Technology department to adopt.
Lead small and large projects and initiatives to ensure that projects are completed effectively.
Work independently and in collaboration with executive level positions to craft, build and present reports.
Utilize different project management practices, including Project Management Professionals, Agile and others, to handle multiple projects, priorities and portfolio management.
Collaborate with and provide excellent customer service to many different types of employees on campus including but not limited to directors, executives, technical and business skills staff members.
Provide guidance on project management phases, techniques and tools.
Work closely with Business Analyst, Directors and staff in developing project requirements.
Writing up all project documentation.
Create standards and methodologies for IT staff to follow.
Conduct training sessions and documentation for project managers and staff members participating in projects.
Facilitate project meetings to ensure project goals are being met and that projects remain on schedule.
Conduct post project meetings and reviews to see opportunities for improvements.
Conduct risk identification, and mitigation of risk to reduce negative impact on project executions.
Bachelor's degree required.
Minimum 5 years’ experience as a project manager handling 30+ projects yearly (including crafting, building, and presenting reports directly to executive level positions)
Ability to use Project management software solutions
Broad understanding of Information Technology
Consistent track record of customer service excellence
Ability to work effectively with end users of all skill levels and the ability to work independently
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, priorities and portfolio management.
Ability to work well independently and collegially in a team environment with a variety of people.
Excellent analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills; verbal and written communication skills; interpersonal and negotiation skills.
Familiarity with different project management practices including Project Management Professionals, Agile, as well as a deep understanding of project management phases, techniques and tools;
Ability to identify, map and document business processes.
Ability to anticipate problems and build solutions to the problems.
Strong organizational and planning skills.
Experience with documentation tools and techniques.
Knowledge of relational database concepts.
Fluent with tools to document project requirements/processes including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio and Project.
