Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist Faculty members in developing highly competitive, technical, and complex scientific grant proposals and manuscripts.
Compile grant proposals with specific aims, scientific background, research methods, data, graphics, and bibliography for individual faculty and multiple investigator projects according to federal agency or foundation guidelines.
Assist faculty with additional proposal preparation including arrangement of outside letters of collaboration, graphics design and overall proposal organization.
Provide editorial assistance including proofreading text of grants, manuscripts, abstracts, presentations and other material per funding agency guidelines or journal specifications.
Provide assistance with interpreting grant and manuscript critiques for revision, resubmission’s or rebuttal.
May assist faculty with project status and technical reports as needed.
Participate in major institutional efforts on specific projects requiring editing, reviewing, meeting organization and coordination.
Maintain current knowledge of funding agency priorities, faculty interests and research expertise. Research and inform faculty of upcoming, funding opportunities, grant deadlines, and conferences or workshops to improve research competitiveness.
Provide training on Community of Science to research faculty.
Research a variety of topics to support proposals and manuscripts including national statistics and socioeconomic effects.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Requires a directly job-related 4 year degree from a college or university or an equivalent in-depth specialized training program that is directly related to the type of work being performed.
Requires a minimum of three (3) years of directly job-related experience.
