As the lead project manager for the institution, you will be responsible to plan, coordinate and integrate institutional resources across all divisions to maximize the effectiveness and success of all major exhibits consistent with the institution’s mission statement, goals and objectives. Your demonstrated knowledge of project management principles in addition to software applications, in order to maintain and track project deliverables and resources is essential.
Managing project development and execution from initial concept through project close-out processes.
Working with senior staff to draft the project charter, primary stakeholders, outlining goals, budget, timing, deliverables, project scope, and required resources.
Preparing a work breakdown structure for the estimation of efforts needed for each task.
Preparing the project schedule with input from all primary stakeholders and to identify the commencement of their tasks.
Communicating clearly the expectations to senior staff and team members.
Resolving issues and solving problems throughout the project cycle using interpersonal and team building techniques.
Identifying and communicating the requirement of external contractors and/or consultants to accomplish the project plan. As required, identifying, recruiting and managing appropriate staffing to accomplish project goals.
Tracking and reporting project milestones and providing status reports to project sponsors, based on previously approved communication plan.
Leading, coaching, and motivating members of project team on a positive basis.
Determining the test results of project and completing post-project evaluations to determine the expected results.
Developing tools and applying best practices for project execution and project management phases.
Ensuring successful archive of project documents after the project completion as part of project closure process.
Successfully lead a team of project team towards the goal and objective of the project.
Meet clients, primary stakeholders in order to better understand their requirements and customer expectations for project deliverables
Clearly define and communicate project duties to project workers or team members as well as track and report action progress
Manage the day to day administration of the project and evaluate progress per timeline and expectations of the client. Report and develop work around plans as required, to include additional resources if required to meet customer requirements.
Estimate and manage the project budget and successfully perform project tasks within cost constraints.
Normal office environment. Use of personal computer.
Bachelor’s degree in Business or Engineering with an emphasis in Project Management. Master’s degree in Business or Engineering is preferred.
Knowledge of project management tools and software packages.
Ability to operate well in fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Operational, technical marketing and management skills.
Must be a good communicator with exceptional team building skills.
Leadership attributes as well as decisive coupled with excellent problem-solving ability.
Minimum of 10 years of hand-on experience in project management activities.
