Manager, Program Management – Amazon Prime Now We are seeking a talented, driven, and entrepreneurial Manager of Program Management (MPM) for our fast-growing same-day delivery service, Amazon Prime Now. This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in a groundbreaking new initiative at Amazon in its earliest stage. The ideal candidate will be highly analytical with proven experience owning a retail category, driving process improvements and delivering results.
The position will be responsible for managing a team of PMs responsible for the Hardlines and Softlines categories on Prime Now, and is a hybrid between vendor management and product management. Responsibilities include: (1) Managing a team of three with responsibility for category P&Ls of Hardlines (Home, Kitchen, Consumer Electronics) and Softlines (Clothing, Shoes, Accessories), including determining a curation and assortment strategy to drive sales and inventory optimization. (2) While the role does not involve direct vendor management, the MPM will collaborate closely with existing category teams at Amazon to drive vendor negotiations related to marketing opportunities on Prime Now. (3) Developing processes to scale collaboration across multiple categories. (4) Driving high strategic, cross-team initiatives on Prime Now, including collaborations with Amazon device and private label teams.
The successful candidate will be able to analyze data to determine trends and drive a curation strategy for their categories. They will also work closely with internal stakeholders, including senior Amazon leadership (category leaders) to drive collaboration with Prime Now. The Manager, PM will be challenged to invent and scale processes across many categories at Amazon. We seek an individual who is motivated by a fast-paced and highly entrepreneurial environment.
· Bachelor Degree required, MBA is preferred · 6+ years of experience in Vendor or Program Management, or equivalent experience such as Consulting, Finance, Merchandising or Operations · Superior analytical skills, with demonstrated ability to dive in and quickly understand root cause and identify scalable solutions · Must possess excellent business judgment, strong written and oral communication skills, and a practical, common sense approach to getting things done · Demonstrated ability to operate both strategically and tactically in a high-energy, fast-paced environment · High degree of organization and ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously · Excellent collaboration skills that enable you to earn trust at all levels · Extreme attention to detail and willingness to roll up your sleeves
