full-time position with Physicians Billing Service; 37.5 hours per week; Monday - Friday
Report to Sr. Director. Assist in achieving operational objectives and meeting PBS, Revenue Cycle, and JHM strategic goals by contributing data and process analysis, overseeing and leading a multitude of internal projects, tracking and reporting results, organizing and facilitating JHM initiatives with multi-disciplinary and entity representation. Work with multi-functional/entity often geographically dispersed project teams, and attend enterprise revenue cycle workgroups, synthesizing and integrating information received to assist in the identification of initiatives, processes, and the technology changes that may impact the professional fee billing operations, or other areas of revenue cycle.
Perform a broad range of professional assignments. Exercise independent judgment in carrying out assignments that have significant impact in improving PBS operational and system workflows. Act as key participant in the change management process that includes being responsible for developing and executing internal and external communication strategies.
Analytics & Problem Solving:
Work with PBS core, Hospital, Access, clinic leadership and subject matter experts, to identify and assess key issues that require intervention and improvement in support of maximizing revenue streams, lowering cost and improving the patient experience. Use analytic problem-solving approach that includes identification and execution of relevant quantitative analyses, interviews and surveys, and observations, together with developing process workflow diagrams. Develop and execute qualitative and quantitative analyses and oversee execution of analytics by others involved in the project or initiative. Synthesize findings and develop recommendations to improve operational and system workflows.
Communication and Change Management
Conduct effective interviews to support problem solving and solution development. Determine most effective communications for each situation. Create effective written communications to support understanding of issues and recommendations. Present findings and recommendations and accurately anticipates and addresses questions from / concerns of the audience. Work closely with Directors in developing and executing communication workflows and strategies to keep PBS leadership and staff informed of pertinent information, operational, system or business changes.
Develop/document project plans and timelines, hold project teams accountable for meeting deadlines and goals. Develop/document issue-oriented work plan that will support creative problem-solving. Work closely with Directors to ensure the scope and direction of each project and initiative is on target.
Facilitate teams to support problem solving. Collaborate internal and external revenue cycle stakeholders at all levels to facilitate change. Provide leverage to Directors by establishing strong relationships with PBS and JHHS revenue cycle subject matter experts and functional leaders that support current and future work efforts.
Perform other duties as required.
Bachelor's degree in related field. PMP certification. Minimum five years of relevant experience in healthcare administration or IT environment, professional fee or hospital billing and/or project management. 2 years project management in a matrix environment or business analyst experience. Additional experience may substitute for some education per the JHU equivalency formula.
Working knowledge of regulatory compliance and HIPAA rules, regulations in the dissemination of patient Protected Health Information (PHI). Strong PC skills and analytical skills using Excel, PowerPoint, Word, VISIO.
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills and the ability to work with large amounts of data, facts, as well as, figures and reach valid conclusions. Aptitude for figures and attention to detail.
Strong communication skills and able to present findings, and translate the data into an understandable documents and presentations. Ability to lead by influencing, and motivating staff, project teams and workgroups to achieve project goals.
Must be able to write and speak clearly, and communicate complex ideas. Strong project management skills and the ability of meeting deadlines and working well under pressure. Excellent interpersonal communication and customer service skills required and the ability to interact effectively interact with of all organizational echelons. Able to lift minimum weight, 10 lbs.
**JHU Equivalency Formula: 30 undergraduate degree credits (semester hours) or 18 graduate degree credits may substitute for one year of experience. Additional related experience may substitute for required education on the same basis. For jobs where equivalency is permitted, up to two years of non-related college course work may be applied towards the total minimum education/experience required for the respective job.**
Master's degree. Experience in an academic medical environment.
