The incumbent serves as Senior Project Analyst within General Accounting --- a division of Business & Financial Services (BFS). This position serves in a management level capacity managing multiple work streams. These work streams include activities associated with the documentation and alignment of campus business and financial processes to support the Director, Controls & Compliance and the future adoption of an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, a Common Chart of Accounts and other enterprise level projects as assigned to fully integrate UC San Diego and the Medical Center with UC-wide financial systems modernization initiatives.
These work streams include, but are not limited to; detailed organizational (re)design and service level agreements, business process re-engineering and policy/procedure modification and promulgation, documentation of current systems, interfaces, processes and dependencies, identification of best practices from across the campus and medical center as well as select peer institutions, development of new business processes and policy/procedures, identification of new technology needs in support of new process/policy/procedures, and implementation/testing of new processes/policies/procedures and technology. Provides leadership in the management and execution of various projects with a dual-reporting relationship to Executive Director, Business Transformation & Optimization.
This position plans and provide oversight during execution and monitoring/control of all project activities. Develops project charters, implementation plans, resource plans and schedules; develops and/or provides oversight of project documentation-such as status reports, requirements, design and test plans/procedures; monitors/controls project budgets, schedules and other identified key performance measures; and report lessons-learned to assist with subsequent project modifications and implementations. Develops data analytics ( KPIs) and standard PMP indicators to demonstrate status of projects.
In conjunction with the oversight of this project, incumbent will use experience gained to develop and improve the overall project management practice by developing tools and other resources for use by a larger project management community. Incumbent will interface with all levels of the organization and work collaboratively with various constituents and stakeholders within a widely diverse employee population and campus community; creating partnerships and fostering relationships.
Flexible schedule may be required during certain phases of the project such as testing.
Travel may be required to Office of the President (Oakland, CA).

4 year college Degree, preferably with an emphasis in financial management/accounting, seven years demonstrated experience in project management of complex projects with broad impact; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Project leadership experience which includes familiarity with project management approaches, tools and phases of the project lifecycle, as well as managing resources, scope, schedule and budget.
Expert level knowledge of MS Office Suite: Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook. Working knowledge of MS Project, Visio, SharePoint, SalesForce, Web Services, and JIRA.
Expert ability in written and verbal communications to convey complex or technical content into understandable terms that suits the intended audience.
Proven ability to compose and deliver presentations to large and/or diverse audiences.
Demonstrated ability to analyze information, situations, problems, policies andprocedures.
