Advertised Summary Job Description: Reporting to the Chief Information Officer, the position will oversee the project management of several Columbia Law School web properties.
Project management responsibilities include managing multiple and complex projects simultaneously and with limited resources, within budget and scope, by working with the rest of the Information Technology team and leadership teams to help define scope and recommended approaches for major digital projects.
Creating detailed project plans to track progress and using appropriate verification techniques to manage changes in project scope, schedule, costs, and ensuring technical feasibility and ensuring availability and allocation.
Developing and recommending a multi-year digital strategy, plans and roadmap, including business plans for digital products and serving as a thought leader in aligning digital strategies with business goals and objectives.
Program Management/Measurement/Reporting -Manage client projects, deadlines, budgets, resources -Create and present digital strategy and plans -Evaluate analytics to make client recommendations -Drive KPIs/results -Track resources against budgets -Manage external vendors to optimize results and maintain accountability.
Client Relations -Understand client's business -Translate client needs into deliverables and actions -Offer strategic advice and creative thinking for best practices -Client management and troubleshooting
Business Development -Identify opportunities among existing client base -Oversee development of new products and services and better align existing products and service to budgets and revenue. -Measure, analyze, and establish benchmarks for site performance in the various digital channels and provide insights and key learnings to affiliated teams -Recommends information technology strategies, policies, and procedures by evaluating organization outcomes; identifying problems; evaluating trends; anticipating requirements.
Team Management -Take leadership role, set objectives and priorities -Manage, mentor, motivate and evaluate -Lead training and planning sessions
Digital Research and Analysis -Keep up with best practices, emerging strategies and new technologies and tactics in digital marketing that add value -Supervise digital development for public-facing web properties for UX, risk management, legal compliance, and overall strategic direction -Create clear user journey insights and recommendations -Complete Competitive Analysis/Audits and Best Practice Analysis
General Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or equivalent plus 4-6 years of experience in work/education required, preferably in the fields of computer science or engineering for technical project managers Proven working experience as a project administrator in the information technology sector Experience with Drupal Version 7, or compatible Content Management System Strong knowledge of client side web technologies (HTML/CSS/JS) Solid technical background, with understanding or hands-on experience in software development and web technologies Demonstrated experience working with external vendors and internal clients. Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills Excellent interpersonal skills, and excellent oral and written communication skills required. Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills Demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment and to lead small groups of technicians. Strong knowledge of GIT & SVN Strong documentation philosophy Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Atlassian suite, Google Apps, Acquia Certified Developer - Front End Specialist is a plus PMP / PRINCE II certification is a plus
