The Program Manager will be responsible for the successful initiation, planning, design, execution, monitoring, controlling and closure of projects within the engineering department. He/she will be accountable for the delivery of every project on time, within budget and scope.
Prepare, schedule, coordinate and monitor assigned engineering projects through all project phases
Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility
Develop a detailed project plan to monitor and track progress
Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule, and project cost
Cooperate and communicate effectively with all project stakeholders
Measure project performance using appropriate tools and techniques
Monitor compliance to applicable codes, practices, QA/QC policies, performance standards, specifications, federal and state regulations
Required Skills and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
Proven working experience as a project engineer
Ability to execute multi-disciplinary projects requiring cross functional teams within the company
Decision making ability and leadership skills
Time management and organizational skills
Desired Skills and Experience
Experience in Heavy Duty automotive industry
Experience with rules, regulations, best practices and performance standards in Heavy Duty automotive industry
Experience with design verification planning and reporting on components/systems
Demonstrated problem solving, troubleshooting, root cause analysis and countermeasure identification skills related to vehicle systems
Working knowledge of FMEA, 8D problem solving, Six Sigma, DFM/DFA and Lean Principles
Working knowledge of Workfront Project Management software or equivalent.
