UW Medicine Strategic Outreach has an outstanding opportunity for a Physician Liaison, AIRLIFT NORTHWEST, (ALNW).
Under the direction of the Manager of the Physician Liaison Program, this individual will Serve in the key role in the planning, organization and implementation of outreach to prehosptial and hospital based providers for Airlift Northwest.
He/she will be responsible for the analysis, strategy development and implementation. Including targeting of potential referral source providers and being measured on successfully getting referral source providers to request flights from ALNW. Significant work includes development of tactics for outreach and executing tactics. Responsible for tracking and measurements of success of Outreach. Additional work will include identifying process improvement for outreach and examining opportunities for training/education. Coordination and staff support for the regional Outreach Nurses and base teams.
This position will work with the UW Medicine Outreach team and be responsible for the referral development program as it relates to ALNW. This will include the responsibility for analyzing patient flight requests and completions, recommending trends and strategies; benchmarking and aligning with agreed upon strategies and initiatives. Work closely with Aircare, Outreach Nurses, Base managers, Chief Flight Nurses and Comm Center by collaborating with them on strategies, opportunities, tactics.
Responsibility for developing new approaches and lean process improvement for improving systems. Matrix work across UW Medicine Health System as it relates to trauma and urgent care.
This position will be responsible for controlling expenses and impacting the development and use of a budget plan related to strategizes/initiatives for ALNW outreach.
Work collaboratively with Marketing on creative collateral, website improvements, social media, video.
Work with ALNW Administration to calendar activities conducted in Outreach, track value of activities and report out quarterly.
Proactively identify and staff Community events.
Communicate to all staff and assist with training on messaging, talking points, roles in LZ and PR trainings.
The PHYSICIAN LIAISON, AIRLIFT NORTHWEST (ALNW) will work closely under the UW Medicine Director of Strategic Outreach but he/she will be expected to quickly work independently bringing his/her expertise in marketing and referral development to development a sound referral development strategy to implement for neuroscience services at UW Medicine. He/she will come up with a budget plan aligned with the proposed strategic plan.
This position requires a high level of acuity to service and understanding of content marketing/real-time and long-term continuous improvement-marketing and outreach. Excellent communication skills and tactful is critical to the successful of this position and program development.
ALNW is critical to referrals to UW Medicine in quaternary care, some of the highest reimbursed care in all of UW Medicine. The communities ALNW serves depend on them to be a bridge to life saving care.
Duties include but are not limited to: Analysis of market data, using, ALNW data sources, EPIC, Chars and other financial data. Using data to target flight requestors who will more likely refer to ALNW. Detailed targeting and tactics are necessary to preserve resources both human and financial. Use data to identify and monitor patterns, as well as opportunities for improved performance. Follow change in business in conjunction with Finance.
Development of Strategies, planning, and outreach that synchs with ALNW financial and operation goals.
Collaboration and leadership on executing other Outreach projects as necessary throughout UW Medicine with liaisons, Physicians, Service Line Administrators, Clinic Managers. He/she will feed data/tactics to the respective physician liaisons and/or service line administrators to impact improvement in referral development.
Execution on ALNW Outreach tactics including; one on one meetings, group meetings, assist outreach nurses on setting up events, trainings, coordinate mailings to requestors, help set up education, invitations, LZ trainings. Work under the overall direction of the UW Medicine Director of Strategic Outreach.
Establish and maintain positive working relationships with all requestors Travel across service areas in AK and Washington.
Organize attendance at State Trauma Regional meetings and other meetings pertinent to the mission. Set up meetings for Medical Director with MPD and MSOs in each region.
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, or Strategic Planning or related degree
Two to three years of experience in program development and marketing to include: Outreach, Sales, Planning, Data Analysis, Presentation skills. Preferred experience in sales, sales strategy development.
Understanding of the industry economics, project management experience but not a PMP certification.
An equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute for stated requirements.
Flexible with schedule because travel is required. Ability to adjust style and communication to the needs of each specific audience. Ability to work well with surgeons in a collaborative manner.
This position requires a dynamic person who is extroverted, a good speaker and strategic. Someone who can work with complex groups and translate their business goals into outreach tactics. Devising multiple tools for communicating on multiple channels to external providers. Recommending strategies and executing tactics that deliver ROI. Setting budgets for these tactics .
CONDITION OF EMPLOYMENT:
This position will require out of the office on outreach visits, driving, flying, participate in meetings with large and small groups of physicians by traveling to local and regional locations, including, SE Alaska, Central Washington and Western Washington.
The incumbent will participate in meetings with large and small groups of Physicians, Nurses, Medics, Forest Service, Ski patrol, etc.
The office will be located in a cube at UW Tower and/or ALNW offices.
