Advertised Summary Job Description: ColumbiaDoctors is one of the largest multi-specialty practices in the northeast and is affiliated with world renowned Columbia University Medical Center and New York-Presbyterian Hospital. ColumbiaDoctors Information Systems (CDIS) is currently looking for a Senior Application Analyst to work in its office located in Fort Lee, New Jersey.
Senior Application Analyst oversees the day to day activities of all Application Analyst, who are responsible to provide ongoing application support to over 20 clinical departments. The candidate will mentor the Application Analyst to ensure the team adheres to all methodologies and management of the day to day activities and/or process.
The Senior Application Analyst is responsible for managing one or more systems projects in support of ColumbiaDoctors using industry standard project management tools and methods. The successful candidate will be a self-starter with the ability to deal with ambiguity and competing priorities. Knowledge of healthcare, physician practice workflow, and revenue cycle processes is required. The ability to understand information system concepts and leverage those concepts to solve complex problems is also required. Communication skills, teamwork and the ability to enlist others to fully participate in projects with collaboration across departments are essential to this role. The Senior Application Analyst can be called upon to support any systems initiative that benefits ColumbiaDoctors and can be assigned duties that are not specifically enumerated herein.
General Minimum Qualifications: Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent in education and experience, plus four years of related experience.
Additional Specific Minimum Qualifications: 1. Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent in education and experience, plus four years of related experience. 2. Proven and demonstrable track record of large scale project management success 3. Proficient in the use and functionality of healthcare practice management systems 4. Knowledge of healthcare workflows and the ability to match and leverage a systems portfolio to enable and improve those workflows 5. Ability to proactively assume responsibility for assigned tasks and projects, seeing these through to completion with limited oversight and supervision 6. Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form. This position requires the ability to interact positively, constructively and effectively with employees and professional staff. Must be a motivated individual with a positive and exceptional work ethic. Excellent analytical and problem solving skills. Ability to educate and train all levels of professional staff.
Preferred Qualifications: 1. Minimum of four (4) years' experience in IS project management 2. Project Management Professional (PMP) certification 3. BA/BS in Information Systems, Business Administration or related field preferred 4. Knowledge of Electronic Medical Record systems 5. Knowledge of GE Centricity Business and Allscripts Touchworks
