Project Coordinator (Industrial Engineer, Lean Six Sigma, PMP) - Performance Improvement - Orlando Orlando seeks to hire Project Coordinator who will embrace our mission to extend the healing ministry of Christ. Facility Profile: Located on a lush tropical campus, our flagship hospital, 1,107-bed Florida Hospital Orlando, serves as the major tertiary facility for much of the Southeast, the Caribbean and South America. Florida Hospital Orlando houses one of the largest Emergency Departments and largest cardiac catheterization labs in the country. We are already one of the busiest hospitals in the nation, providing service excellence to more than 32,000 inpatients and 125,000 outpatients each year. Department Profile: Performance Improvement is located in the Quality and PI building on N. Orange Ave, adjacent to Florida Hospital Orlando and Children's campus, with free on-site parking. Working closely with both System and Campus level leadership, the team uses performance improvement tools to advance and execute the strategy of Florida Hospital. Work Hours/Shifts: Mon – Fri 8a.m. – 5p.m. Job Summary: Under the general direction of the Director of Performance Improvement, the Project Coordinator provides business/PI expertise and analytic support to high-priority quality and safety initiatives throughout the institution. The Project Coordinator facilitates performance improvement teams in collaboration with multiple clinical team leaders and senior administrators and without direct supervisory responsibility over team members. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all. Knowledge, Skills, Education, & Experience Required: Bachelor's degree in business discipline, engineering or healthcare-related field One year of experience facilitating improvement projects, utilizing knowledge of performance improvement tools and techniques (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma) Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor message to individuals and audiences throughout the institution. Strong organizational skills with the ability to focus detailed concentrated effort to multiple projects and re-establish priorities as necessary. Ability to effectively respond to time-sensitive issues and meet deadlines. Knowledge of project management strategies and methods Initiative and ability to work independently (self-direction), while thriving in a setting requiring collaboration and teamwork for maximal efficiency and effectiveness. Attention to detail that ensures follow through on all initiatives implemented, and all projects undertaken. Mastery of desktop applications, including MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Access) and project management applications (MS Project). Team leadership/facilitation skills Excellent interpersonal and facilitation skills Awareness of performance improvement techniques Keen analytic skill set Master's degree in related field (e.g., MBA, MHA, or MPH) (Preferred) One - three years of healthcare project management experience (Preferred) Licensure, Certification, or Registration Required: Certification in a quality improvement methodology/toolset such as Lean, Six Sigma, Change Management, etc. (Preferred) Project management certification such as Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) or Project Management Professional (PMP) (Preferred) Job Responsibilities: Demonstrates through behavior Florida Hospital's Core Values of Integrity, Compassion, Balance, Excellence, Stewardship and Teamwork as outlined in the organization's Performance Excellence Program Provides project management support to multidisciplinary and often interdepartmental teams focusing on high-priority quality and safety initiatives, to include assisting in training classes and change management strategies.
