UW Medicine Strategic Outreach has an outstanding opportunity for a Physician Liaison, UW Medicine Regional Heart Center. Under the direction of the Manager of the Physician Liaison Program, this individual will implement strategies that enhance the growth of existing and new services at UWMC. Target and meet referring physicians to acquaint them with UWMC services and procedures. Participate in the development of promotional and educational materials for referring physicians that create strong referral relationships. Identify informational and communication linkages to hospital staff, physicians and community, which contribute to UWMC growth and reputation. Assist in analyzing and reporting data related to physician referral patterns.
Establish ongoing working relationships with referring physicians and their office staff through a coordinated office visitation plan and distribution of UWMC materials that facilitate access to UWMC services.
Identify and implement specific outreach and communication strategies through research and collaboration with leadership, faculty and staff of assigned clinical service areas.
Obtain information from referring physicians about the quality of UWMC services. Use the feedback to initiate quality improvement within the medical center and/or targeted clinical service areas.
Work closely with assigned clinical service area leadership, faculty and staff to produce or acquire promotional and educational materials related to UWMC services.
Interact with wide variety of healthcare professionals and administrators at UWMC and in the community. Requires sensitivity to complexities of multiple medical specialties, patient care and practice patterns. Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Sales, or Strategic Planning AND four years of professional experience in program development and marketing to include: Outreach, Sales, Planning, Data Analysis, Presentation skills. Preferred experience in sales, sales strategy development. Understanding of the industry economics, project management experience but not a PMP certification. An equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute for stated requirements.
Master's degree preferred. Prior experience working closely with physicians. Prior experience in health care marketing. Prior experience in cardiovascular disease. Familiar with Regional Heart Center operations and workflows.
CONDITION OF EMPLOYMENT:
This position will require offsite outreach visits, driving, flying, meeting with outside organizations. Participate in meetings with large and small groups of physicians by traveling to local and regional locations.
