UW Medicine Informatics has a wonderful opportunity for a Senior Computer Specialist to join our Radiology Informatics group. The ideal candidate would have experience working in IT support in a healthcare setting, especially in imaging. Ability to work with health professionals in a clinical environment is critical. Understanding all aspects of informatics will be important. The Radiology IT team performs a combination of user support and project work. This is a very dynamic, fast-moving environment with many challenges and rewards. The role we are filling will focus on application support of our GE RIS (Radiology Information System), with some exposure to our digitial imaging systems - GE PACS and GE ViewPoint. A bachelors degree in a related field is preferred. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills are required.
Troubleshoots application problems in a methodical way and reports results appropriately.
Triages hardware, network and software problems; identifying the probable problem area and seeks assistance from the correct group for followup as necessary.
Trains system users including clinical, support and administrative staff in use of application software.
Helps form and manage user project teams to meet stated deadlines.
Configures, tests, and installs software.
Creates and follows formal test plans, documenting results.
Prepares documentation for training and testing that is professional in appearance, detailed, and accurate.

Radiology IT support experience of 3 or more years.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
3 years of direct user support, preferably in a healthcare environment.
Participation in formally managed projects.
1. Bachelor's degree in IT, Business, Health Administration, the Sciences or a related field. 2. Formal project management document creation and tracking experience. PMP Certification 3. CIIP (Certified Imaging Informatice Professional) certification. 4. Radiology Technician experience. 5. Epic certification, particularly in Epicare or Radiant. 6. Experience with creating and following detailed technical test plans. 7. HL7 interface experience, particularly with Cloverleaf or GE ConnectR. 8. Report writing experience, particularly with Crystal Reports or zVision.
