Junior Water Process Engineer - Toronto, Ontario

The challenge? CH2M HILL is looking for a fully competent engineer in all conventional aspects of municipal water treatment subject matter. Solid understanding of the principles of water treatment. Under minimal-to-general supervision, independently evaluates, selects and applies standard engineering techniques and procedures. Details are usually reviewed and checked. May conduct site testing, and make recommendations for design systems. May serve as a team leader in small projects and help train entry-level employees. Normally this level does not have supervisory responsibility. They may supervise technicians on a project by project basis. May assist more senior engineers on large, more complex projects. Assignments have clear and specific objectives. May provide some technical guidance. Work results impact the accuracy, reliability, and acceptability of results beyond the immediate work section. Client and agency contacts are generally limited to routine information collection and dissemination. Expected to work on proposals and contribute to client relationships and business development efforts. Receives instructions on specific objectives, complex features, and possible solutions. Assistance furnished on unusual problems and projects. Competent in related disciplines or technical specialties.

A candidate with a Masters degree along with research experience is desired. Educational or Internship experience should include: drinking water regulations knowledge; experience presenting research material at a national water conference; strong verbal and written technical communication skills; experience with new and innovative technologies in water treatment including disinfection byproduct control; hands on experience building and running pilot plants or other demonstration testing.

We are seeking a self-motivated, team-oriented individual with excellent oral and written communications and good organizational skills. Strong data analysis skills, technical problem solving ability, and multitasking ability will contribute to your success. You should have excellent computer skills (MS Office Suite) as well as a desire to grow both personally and professionally with this engineering opportunity.
