Job Description: This is a new job within AMAG. The Federal Account Project Manager is responsible for planning, organizing and managing complex electronic security projects for successful performance consistent with contractual agreements. He/she is also responsible for informing Sales leaders of potential follow-on business associated with assigned projects; and for supporting new business development by leading or assisting with proposals.
This job is located in the Washington DC area and the person hired will be based in either an AMAG office in Lorton, Virginia or their home and travel locally to client sites. Other travel may include participation at industry trade shows in varying locations 2-3 times each year, and occasional travel outside of their assigned territory.
Job Duties: The primary daily responsibility is to ensure AMAG meets our customers’ expectations. This requires daily tracking and driving requirements for the assigned accounts. He/she will be responsible for the overall management of the project direction as related to functionality and schedule; insure adherence to project management and software development life cycle and best practices; manage the company’s performance on project tasks; provide overall project planning, monitoring and control; provide periodic status reports for Senior Leadership; coordinate project issues and dependencies; review and approve architecture and product direction; secure acceptance and approval of deliverables from the project sponsor(s); be responsible for status reporting, risk management, and escalation of issues that cannot be resolved within the team; liaise with all current and future stakeholders.
The Federal Account Project Manager will be expected to respond to customer requests for information in a timely manner. Such requests include, but may not be limited to: system design support, product feature and capability descriptions, price quotations, and review/response to system requirement specifications.

Requirements: • Significant experience working with the federal government is mandatory. The candidate chosen will either have a federal clearance or be able to obtain one. • Deep working knowledge of security components and systems provided by Security Manufacturers to include but not limited to Access Control software, panels, readers, IDS, DVRs, printers, Intercom systems, IP video, storage and IDS. It is highly desirable to have experience with AMAG products and systems. • An understanding of the Federal standards for security meeting FIPS-201 standards including readers, and card technology. • Strong IT knowledge with a deep understanding of computers, operating systems and networks. • A college degree is preferred with at least 10 years of experience in a technical role in the security industry. • Project Management Professional Certification (PMP) is highly desirable.
