Job Description

We are seeking an experienced General Manager - Project Controls to join our team based in Calgary, Alberta. Reporting to the Vice President, Information Management Solutions, the General Manager, Project Controls designs and implements overall project controls by applying systems and methods for estimate development. This includes cost control, progress measurement, and schedule development/control and management of change across a variety of project types.

The responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to the following: • Participate in the development and stewardship the project control plan for work scope definition, preliminary estimates, budgets, plans, schedules, scope change and resource requirements. • Perform quality assurance by monitoring and appraising the performance of customer, partner and contractor participants. • Provide overall project cost, schedule, progress measurement, and change management leadership and expertise. • Participation and input into the initial project planning phases, providing validation of scope and time/cost estimates. • Support Project Managers, Estimators and Cost controllers with overall project cost and schedule analysis, reporting, forecasting, budgeting and change management.

Requirements
As the successful candidate, you will possess these qualifications: • Thorough and extensive knowledge of project controls principles, theories, concepts, practices, processes and expectations; may have an accounting or cost control background. • 15+ years of related experience with a relatively uniform mix of cost and schedule control achievements across all project disciplines. • Project experience in a Turnaround and /or Sustaining Engineering (small capital projects in the $20-$100 million range) environment highly desirable. • Project Management professional, degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or Business Administration with relevant experience
